New Bow

Got a new bow yesterday. I went backwards though I want to start shooting traditional and got a recurve. I would like to get good enough before October to be able to take a deer with traditional gear.
I got a used 2012 model recurve so its only 1 year old but new to me. I will post a picture of it when I get a chance.

Good then Im not the only crazy nut. Some times you just have to pass some time and it never hurts to have a few for profile pics so people can see who seriously you take the hunting. Not a thing wrong with that in my opinion. Keep thoes candids going mrdlschmidt LOL

I wish every thing was 150 yard shot. Here the 150 yards is like the standard 20 yard bow shot. Its a lot of very open country where you can see for quiet a few miles when you get up on top of a hill. Makes for some very tough bow hunting. I dont like to shoot over the 350-400 yard mark. I have a ballistic rifle scope with the dashes sighted in to 500 but dont like shooting past the range I said above because wind drift becomes way to big of a factor. I was lucky this year and didnt have to shoot to far this year. Shot the buck at 189 yards and shot the doe at 74 yards. My dad shot his deer at 310 yards and my brother shot his at 290 yards.

I hear you there never enough pics and can never have enough cameras either. The one with the big 5 on one side and messed up on the other side I have been getting for the last 3 years.
Glad I could help Ned, hope it was a help to get you on track to get you fired up and ready to get out there and get one. good luck

It was a rush. I was already tagged out so i just went along since I seen him lay down 4 hours earlier and so I could range him with range finder while dad was in the ready position all the time. My heart was still beating hard and was excited to be that close to such a nice buck. Was very windy and had the wind in our favor. Every so often we would inch a little closer. Took an hour to get to 25 yards and then a half hour to get from 25 to 19 yards. Then an hour and 15 minute sit and then dad was going to just inch closer and reposition and we must have finally been close enough for him to be able to hear over the wind and was gone. Talk about your heart falling into your stomach. Was still a great experience and practice.
