Man did someone flip a switch? Ofcourse, the temp has hit the high 40's the last two nights. Seen several bucks dead on the side of the road. And been seing deer all over the club. I took my daughter up there today, and we climbed in the stand for fifteen minutes and she rattled in a buck.
Scrapes and rubs have been appearing everywhere. I am thinking if the weather stays cool, the rut will be peaking in the next two weeks.

The deer have really started moving here in NW Ohio since the farmers have been in the fields taking off the corn and beans. The cooler weather is helping too. I've heard several guys at work saying that they have been seeing bucks mounting does in the last few days. It looks like the rut is about to kick into high gear. I think I'll take a few vacation days and head to the woods.

Still in the 90s during the day and 60s at night hear. Not a lot of movement yet. But once the cooler weather gets here I anticipate more movement.

Still pretty hot here during the day too...in the 80's. Nights are getting cooler though...50's and upper 40's. I don't know if the deer are moving much but I'm still seeing lots of them during the day...while Im out and about wokring my tail off trying to make rent and pay for everything else that comes this way.

Deerslayer in a way thats good news for me???!!!! I will be in Ocean City in Nov so at least i wont be freezing my butt off for work. But then again i will also be doing some hunting while im there. So some cooler temps wouldnt hurt my feelings. Last year we were there for the record snowfall and it ended up shutting us down because we couldnt get our foundations in. Hoping that dont happen again.

Man I tell you guys, Since this post they really havent stopped moving for me. I have only been on two afternoon hunts when I havent seen multiple deer. With all the activity its hard to say the season isnt going well, but after having my best season ever last year, the standards have gone up.
I have never had much luck after the first week of November, but we have seen plenty of does lately but absolutely no chasing.
We experienced a really good pre rut so far, rattling in over twenty diff bucks. Maybe this year the south will experience a solid rut. Anyway thats my season so far.........
