A Doe tag in my pocket and A Doe in front of me, means an Arrow is on its way. I have yet to see a Doe this year though and would be nice to get a Doe on Ice as well before the rut really picks up.

i've passed on a lot of deer before and usually regret it. i don't usually pass on does, but i do on bucks. bad thing is if i pass on a buck, there's somebody that won't so we never get too many trophies down this way. it'll pay off one day. part of the fun for me is actually seeing deer. it means that i did something right and it's not just dumb luck that brought that deer buy.

So true. I hunt mostly State Land so really good Bucks are hard to come by so if I have a legal deer in front of me with a Tag to go on it, its going down unless its a fawn. I love the taste of Venison to much.

I also do alot of state land hunting and i will pass on almost any small bucks that come by. I know he guy sitting down the road may shoot it but ill give em that chance to make it. I like to think that some of them have made it. But i wont rag on the next guy for shooting it because in his eyes it may be a trophy.

I agree with that and I have seen some really nice Bucks on state land but they are so few and far between. Th epiece I hunt is always good during the archery season but during gun season the same group of guys drive it a they shoot just about anything that moves. I'll take a smaller Buck if I can and with the rules here one of them has to be a nice one.

Arrowhawk im not getting down on ya. Ive been there and more than likely hunted some of the same stateland as you. I grew up in Emmett and hunted lots of areas so i know what your going through. I just have alot more stateland up here so i have the option to let some walk with the thought they will make it. Well i like to think that anyways. Good luck tagging one of those stateland monsters. Its no picnic hunting crowded lands!!!
