Well the rain held out for me, was at the woods by 4:50, got the bow out, got my gear situated, said hello to my parents, and off to the stand. Passed the first food plot that we just replanted, nothing growing yet but man it was covered in tracks, and one heck of a set of buck tracks, continuing on tot he stand I found 3 or 4 more sets of fresh tracks on the lane back to the second food plot. Made it to my stand by 5:10, settled in. Wind blew a little, and the woods was kinda noisey wiht the leaves dropping all the rain. I heard two bucks fighting, man that got my heart pumping, only the second time I have ever heard that in real life. About 6:00 I caught movement to my left coming out of the bottom, looked like it was on a string coming into the corn I had set up for the camera, had my release snapped on and was ready to draw when it stepped behind a tree jsut before the corn, as it poked its head out I seen the buttons, ugh, little guy too, didnt have spots but little. Wathced him for prolly 25 minutes while he ate his dinner, the whole time he was looking behind him, I kept waiting for momma to come out but nope, suddenly, he looked behind him again, stared, then went right back into the bottom as quickly as he came out. Guessing momma was abck in there somewhere, and she told him was time to go. Saw one more just before dark, not sure what it was, but I couldnt get a shot with the bow. As far as I;m concerned it was a good night, much better than last week, had a lot of action, seen some deer, didnt get soaked by the rain! As soon as I seen that BB, I thought, uh huh, I knew it, its the bow, as soon as I picked up that dang gun nothing, I bring out the Hoyt, and there are deer............

i think they call that murphy's law. happens to me too. i quit bow hunting because an 80 yard shot isn't possible. people kept telling me you're hunting in the wrong places. yeah, i knew i was, but when i hunted in little draws and things like that i'd never see the deer, if i moved my stand to where i saw the deer, they'd be where my stand was originally the next time i'd see them. same thing happens still though. if i'm hunting with buck shot, they're 100 yards out or better, if i'm hunting with my rifle they're right under me. makes no sense.
