Will's 2011 Season

Sat in the burnt pines stand tonight. Got in kinda late and made a ton of noise trying to get in. My 3D bug suit got snagged on EVERY limb, twig, and vine that I brushed through trying to bust into the woods. Got settled and started hunted finally around 5:45 or so. At 6:30 I hear a shot. I hear another shot at 6:45 nearly sunset or there abouts. I tried the doe can tonight hopein to entice a buck in but all I saw was does. Two came in but one vanished behind the trees. The other meandered around then beelined right to my stand. I dropped it after thinkin I wouldn't but I guess I had it in the sights too long and just squeezed the trigger. I sat a few more minutes and heard several more deer coming in. I climbed down at 7:17 when I couldn't see any more. A deer scampers off and another starts blowing but not moving. I creep over to my little doe and drag her out.

Sat in the double man on Thursday night and saw nothing. Sat Sat morning in my climber with Mike in my double man. I saw nothing and moved my double man to a different spot. mike shot a 5 pt and saw a decent 7 and Bob got the 7. He said my food plot was where the 7 came in and the 5 came in from the North along the overgrown cut road flanking the stand of pines.
