Monday Aug 15th is the BIG DAY.

Deer season opens for Game Zone 6 SC. I'm gonna wait until the 18th to hunt, that evening. Trail cams are showing good deer movement close to dark and early in the morning. No bucks on cam yet but the deer have found the corn and are using my bush hogged trails...I'm pretty stoked. I hope to take a buck in August and start the season off on a good note. Of course the temps here have been in the 100's but the deer move when its in lower 90's and 80's except for the heavily wooded stand where its a little cooler due to dense shade...there they move at leisure throughout the day...as the cams show. Y'all take care and wish me luck on opening week.

Thanks guys. Couldn't wait that long. Was out tonight, saw a group of does with a young 6 pt in velvet of course, and then a second group of does...they all came out between 7:30-8:15. I really almost shot that 6 pt but he was still on the thin side and I never had a clean host on him with all the other deer there. I'll be out again this week later. The weather was in the lower 90's but not too bad with my XnGo and my new bug tamer 3D. Didn't even really get all that sweaty. I will say that if that buck comes out again, he may not be as lucky...my trigger finger is VERY itchy right now.

XnGo is like an UnderArmour scent lock shirt I got from a client of mine. Its very breathable and lightweight but still warm enough for down here at the same time. I hunted 3 days opening week and saw deer every single time but no shots taken yet. I'm tryin to put one down with velvet antlers so I can get it mounted like that but I don't know if its gonna happen. They start rubbing here in a couple weeks or so and Im still not seeing bucks while hunting or on cam. In previous years I took a couple spike bucks and a fork in velvet just to put soem meat in the freezer in August but this year looks kinda slim on the chance of that happening again.

hope you get that one in velvet.. was down there this pasted weekend and shot another hog.. that was my luck, but i was up in Williamsburg county so i wouldn't of been able to shoot a deer if i saw one anyways..

Well so far Ive been out 5 times and saw deer 3 of those times. My hunting buddy missed a 6 pt this morning and said he saw hevy tracks on the trail to my double ladder stand. I'm gonna try there in the morning with my good luck charm youngest son. Hurricane Irene has had the deer bedded most of the day and there is very little moon so the AM hunt should be promising. I'm optimistic. Still no bucks on trail cam but they are there somewhere.

Well I've hunted 7 times now and have seen deer almost everytime...either while in the stand, getting to the stand, on the road, or coming from the stand. I have a couple bucks on trail cam now and my trigger finger is SOOOO itchy I cna't almost stand it. I'm gonnat ry my climber stand tonight along the edges of the wooded adjacent lot. Hopefully that will yield the seasons first buck. You'll see it when I get it for sure. Take care y'all.

Good Luck, I have a feeling we are gonna see brown soon. Bow season starts this saturday for us. I havent' decided if I wanna sit where I know I will see some meat or look for ole big boy. It will be a game day decision I think.

I say go for OL big boy...he'll not be expecting it. You're gonna see meat all season I'm pretty sure.
