i just wondering how is it these people become professional hunters? Do you have to shoot so many BC or PY bucks? or does anybody know the process? it came to mind one day when i was watching "the Crush" with Lee and Tiffany. Talking about a dream job.

i don't know any professional hunters myself, but if i had to guess it's a combination of experience and who you know. if you watch these shows, these people are set up on the deer, but they still know a lot about how to find them and how to hunt them. still, i'm willing to bet that 90% of it is who you know.

The Crush is a dream job...hunting iwth a hottie like that for money??? I mean wow. Wish I knew more folks who hunted and had places that theywanted featured ona hunting video or tv show...then I too could become a "professional" hunter.

Definitely who you know. But you still have to be a good hunter. Most of the places you see on tv are pretty prime spots as well. And sometimes it still doesn't work out for the hunter.
If you spent a bunch of money on good camera equipment. then had an experienced cam man. then could pay to go to several prime locations across the country and film hunts. then no someone in a syndication business like versus or espn, or an outdoors channel, to take a look at your show.
Then even after you got a contract it would have to be successful.
That is the short version, there is alot left out. Video editing, acting in front of a camera is easier said than done.
If i ever won the lotto, I would start my own pro fishing and hunting program. Then it wouldn't matter if I made money.

for me it wouldn't be about making the money, i would do it for the love of being outdoors. I don't know how to act in front of camera, so i wouldn't have to learn it would be all natural. i've heard some of those guys/girls are very stuck on themselves. that is so sad.
