www.mcall.com/news/breaking/mc-game-commission-officer-killed-11120101112,0,7431892.story Pennsylvania suffered a lost of a game commission officer, he was investigating some poaching at night and was killed in an exchange of gun fire. The man who killed the officer is not a hunter, he is a criminal. I wish God's speed to the DA in bringing this man to trial, the DA is pushing for the Death penalty.

That is crazy, so sad to see such a good person go like that. Hopefully justice pulls through and they give the guy the death penalty.

That Game Officer looks remarkably like the one from the movie Escanaba in Da Moonlight...a movie about deer hunting starring Jeff Daniels. A rather kooky movie for sure.

All of our officers run around alone. That is one dangerous job imo. We have had officers thrown in the rivers run off the roads you name it. Some people are just stupid and have no sense.

All of our officers run around alone. That is one dangerous job imo. We have had officers thrown in the rivers run off the roads you name it. Some people are just stupid and have no sense. Some people are just obsessed with deer hunting or fishing or what ever and loose sight that there are laws that pertain to that sort of thing also. I for one get very nervous when DNR people show up out of nowhere and start asking me questions as if I've done something wrong. They took a trail cam from one of my hunting locations last year and I never got it back. They told me that it had evidence of spot lighting/poaching on it and they needed it for evidence. I was like...uh can't you just pull the card??? I think that they just wanted my camera. They were a couple of real jerks. When I asked about pulling the card they said...maybe you need a ticket for trespassing. I still to this day think that they were abusing their power and just wanted to harrass me cause I had shot several deer from that location and had some big ones on trail cam that i was hunting. No excuse for shooting one dead though...but I am saying that even honest people can be pushed too far and have negative consequences turn out.

yeah dag, I would have to find somebody to tell it to. Man my blood would have been boiling.
Shame an wildlife officer had to die. Down here our officers are strict but fair. Im sure there are some butts out there but glad I haven't met them. So far ours have the attitude that if you get caught, be honest and polite and they treat you pretty good.

Man Dag i would be doing some talking to someone about that. Something jut dont add up. I talked to several people about that. I'm friends with several sheriffs deputies and the cheif of police. They said there really is nothing I can since they have more authority then local law enforcement. I've been on the lookout for that SOB ever since but never have seen him again.

Here is some more information on the shooting. One would have to wonder why was the officer working alone at night? I,m sure working alone at night in the middle of nowhere isn't the norm. They often work alone in fact most of the time during the day and at night. They are terribly understaffed in most areas.. They often have to cover several counties It's a very Dangerous job probably one of the most dangerous in law enforcement. Think about it most people you encounter have a gun or direct access to one.The very good friend of mine was a GW and was killed in the line of duty..
