Is it just me or are most of the newer hunting and fishing shows a joke or what?

Newer, older, they are all a joke. Most of them couldn't hunt to save their life. I have given up on hunting shows, as well as magazines. They are nothing more than commercials for the advertisers. Then they take XYZ's newest gadget, kill a "trophy" on a game farm and then praise the product as the best thing since sliced bread! And if you buy one, you will shoot that monster buck you didn't even know existed.
Sorry for the soapbox rant, I'll step down now.LOL

you know the funniest thing about those shows to me was how they'd whisper the whole time, and then fire off they're 300 ultra mag, then turn to the camera and whisper "I think I got him". yeah, let's make sure we're quiet so in case you missed he might come back. fishing shows are just as bad. i love bill dance, but how does he find these lakes with all those big fish? granted they probably spend a whole week trying to put togehter a single show, but still. i'd like to go with him one time!

When I was a kid, I loved watching the Red Fisher show (Ontario Canada 1968 - 1989). I tried google to find a video link of his show for youz guys in the US but couldn't find one! He'd wet a line with some athlete or celebrity then they'd hang out at the old "Scuttlebutt Lodge" & talk about the day afield... "Red" died in Chatham Ont, May 2006 @ 92yrs of age. Bernard Herbert “Red” Fisher was an American who made Canada his home. Fisher was inducted into the U.S. based "Fishing Hall Of Fame" in 1948. When he moved to Canada, he launched a popular radio talk show program The Red Fisher Show in 1963, which moved to television in 1968. The TV version was set at fictitious "Scuttlebutt Lodge" and featured silent home movies of outdoors activities which involved high profile guests, mainly from the major league sports of the era. These included ice hockey stars Gordie Howe, Eddie Shack, and Johnny Bower, and baseball legends Ted Williams, Roger Maris and Ferguson Jenkins. The Red Fisher Show differed from other outdoor living shows of its time by promoting nature conservation, game preservation and the "catch and release" mentality. The series continued until 1989, making it among the longest-running on CTV. In 1968 he launched the Red Fisher Show and for the next 21 years he reigned as the patriarch of the genre. Red’s shows were entertaining, with an emphasis on the fun and camaraderie of fishing. The good natured ribbing between host and guest greatly contributed to the show’s appeal and many anglers dreamed of one day visiting one of the remote locations where the show was shot. Red explained his philosophy in a Real Fishing magazine interview in the fall of 2004. “…I tell you, they’ve got these contests where they’re fishing for cars, they’re fishing for boats, they’re fishing for money - God didn’t put fish on the Earth for that. He put them here for the wonderful feeling that you get when you’re out in the open and you’re with friends.”

personally most really irratate me however i do like a few of them. I think lee and tiffany are awsome mostly because tiffany lakowsky might be the hottest women on the planet and she shoots huge bucks. I also like the show arrow affliction and other shows like that where they do crazy and cool stuff. I agree though most of them are a joke and are just celebs trying to make money.
heres a link to some arrow affliction stuff if youve never seen it
