Well boys this week has been crazy. I have bear hunted so far for since sept 8th and by this weekend had 80+ hours worth of sitting time without even seeing a bear. so friday we had our homecoming football game so i decided to stay home and watch it because it is my senior year. well the next morning i went duck hunting and got a call saying the bait was hit at 6pm i was pissed because i would have gotten him if i was there. so i decided since the homecoming dance was that night i would stay for the dance and if he hit again around 6 on saturday i would head up. well homecoming sucked it was just stupid. so sunday morning i again went duck hunting. again recieved a call after sayin it hit around 715 about 15 min after shooting. however i still decided to head up. well on the way i found a deal on decoys and bought those which was awsome. anyway i get up there and we set the stand and im sitting by 415 i sat on facebook for a while on my phone and texted some people then it was getting close to when he was arriving so around 530 so im sitting there and check my phone for a time when i hear something. i barely turn my head and see a big ol black object comin straight in from behind me. of course my heart starts to beat and i could barely breathe. this was the first bear i ever saw in the wild. because he snuck up on my i decided to not move until he was either at the bait or behind something to grab my gun and get situated. then at 20 yards he stopped and smelled the air. i thought crap there went my chance but then he kept walking and went behind all these trees. with one swift motion i had my gun up and was waiting for him to walk out. he walked out and was at about 15 yards. then i clicked my safety off and i knew it was a loud safety so as i clicked it i was ready for him to stop. he did and started to look up and gave me a perfect cornering to shot and i let him have it. 30 06 hit him hard and 30 yards later i watched him fall and heard the wonderful death moan letting me know i had sealed the deal. i was shaking so hard i could barely hold my phone. he is not the biggest being around 200 but i am still so happy i dont have to eat tag soup seeing it closes next tuesday. thanks for reading the story and how many points does this count for in the contest lol now its all about stickin a giant buck and a lot of ducks and geese
