I rattled this 2.5 yr old 7 pt in at about 7:40 am. He came up with in 10 yards, I hope he makes it till next season.

He doesn't look that bad. I agree if he survives a few more seaosns, he should double his mass and pick up a few more tines and become a real nice wall hanger. Cool video buddy. Was that free hand?

yes dagr8 that was free hand, I quit taking my camera arm to the stand everytime, I just had too much stuff, especially since I have been toting my antlers. This is that buck in velvet. You can see the velvet really adds some mass.

I was thinking you had trail cam pics of him when i saw him. Yeah he needs another 2 years to reach his max potential i think. Good luck to him making it through!!

Most of the bucks we have grow pretty good between 2 and 3 years old. I can't ask anyone to pass up a 3.5 yr old deer at our place. As you can hear, we do have some hunting pressure. Luckily, I try to make our thick swamp property a safe haven for them until they are atleast 3.5. Ofcourse just letting them get to that age they will also get smarter and more likely to get even older. One of my buddies passed on a mature 6 point. Which may have needed to be taken, but he was waiting on something bigger.

we can't shoot deer on the new lease unless they are mature or at least 4.5.. really looking to harvest 140" and above
