Here is a way to make your burger even tastier. When i grind my burger i will grind in 2lbs of bacon to 5lbs of venison. You would not believe how tasty this is. You will have to cook it a litle longer than a normal burger to cook the bacon all the way but well worth it.

We grind the whole deer minus the straps. May save a roast during the season but would much prefer pork. I also prefer beef burgers over deer also. We are planning on making some different grounds this year also. Some will have nothing added. Some will be mixed and frozen with bacon pieces mixed it and other with a creole seasoning blend mixed in. We don't add any fat to any of the grinds.

We dont usually mix anythng in our deer burger, just straight deer. My wife uses it for everything she would use ground deer for. However, I dont grind the entire deer, I love me some deer cubes, dont use roasts much anymore and have gotten into leaving the back straps whole, but if its a older deer we will grind most of it since it will be tough

I ate some last nite and it was yummy. Putting the bacon in there with it really gives it a good flavor and i have no problems keeping it together. All you guys that dont care for venison burger should try this. I was the same way for a long time till i tried it this way. Never hurts to try guys!!

We made breakfast sausage last year, during the grinding process with ground up pork loinmixing with the ground deer, the sausage is great, wonder if putting in small amount of the loin would do the same for hamburgers as the bacon

I keep my burger together adding some seasoned bread crumbs or just crackers and even adding an egg.

I dont usually have any problems keeping it together. I have mixed lots of different meat scraps into it. I have a butcher that will sell me prime rib scraps for .50 a pound. That is also a really good way to make burger. I would think just about any type of meat would be good to mix in.
