Do any of you archery guys use range finders in your stand to know what your shooting distances are before the deer show up? I figured that a range finder like those used in golf could help with shooting distances so you'd know what pin to sight off of. I don't really know that much about these archery things but I was thinkin about this lately...even with my rifle scope not knowing just how far things are that I'm seeing from my stand.

I always check yardage right after i sit down for the first time. I will check certain trees then just remember what tree was 20-30-40. Unlike tv i have never had the time to range them while they are moving in. I use a nikon archers choice rangefinder and it works great.

I range a couple trees like passinthru does, but it's so thick around here I usually only have a couple shooting lanes and they're usually 30 yds or less.

Dag why would you need one there? If you only hunt with a gun and you say your area is thick i dont see a need for one. Heck the only time i use mine while rifle hunting is when i go to canada. I rarely get a shot past 100 yds here. Just sayin. lol
