Did not see a thing saturday man that moon was bright. Mid-day sat I moved my climber to another spot where the owner has always seen good buck.. With the full moon I did not want to climb in the stand at daylight.. I waited till around 7:30.. I was just getting settled in when a doe and and almost shooter 10pt came by. He was probably a high 130 buck not quite big enough.. A while after they wondered off an 8pt came from the direction they went he was probably 100" to 110" give him a few years and he will be nice. The little guy walked right under me easy bow shot I managed to get a few crappy pics with my cell cam his rack doesn't show up it was dark colored,had it been white you could see it. The yellow line is where he walked after I grunted at him.  would not stand still..  |

cool. Glad you are seeing some deer. Sure hope you get to bag that big one you are after.

Still working on the big boy.. They're starting to chase a little.. And as luck would have It will probably be mid-week and I will be at work when the frenzy hits... The work crap sure gets in the way of my hunting ..

Just curious Swamp. What is the minimum that yall wanna shoot? And My feeling is in Ga. it is possible that some deer, (especially 8 pts) never score over 130 inches. Its hard to judge ages, but can yall shoot say an old deer if you know he is old yet has an inferior rack.

Our min on mature deer not 8pts is 145 the owner would like to keep it above 150.. They are there he has a bunch on the wall including a net boone. I have seen several quality bucks..
As far as 8pts go they have to be a mature buck of at least 4.5.. We have a 6pt that is at least 4.5 and we will shoot him on sight he is big and wide. The owner watched him beat the snot out of a big 8pt last year. He was bow hunting and all he could do was watch..
He has close to 12000ac that he manages..

dang grassi you got a good setup I do, but this is swampbucks place. Not sure we can do the same thing they are on my 500 acres. But I think we will get the occassional 150 incher. We just don't have many bucks that are more than 8 pts. And any 8 pt over 130 is a beast. |
