After a basicly uneventfull duck opener weekend i had to cut somefirewood today. I found 2 fresh scrapes accidently, freeeeeessssshhhhhh scrapes, thought to my self, better check my camera. While on the way I found 3 more, one 30 yards from the stand. HAd 160 pics, mostly does, couple bucks but cant see the racks, then, at the end, taken thursday night, he showed up! so, basicly, I'm saying the heck with the ducks, and I am hitting the stand with the Hoyt in hand!!!!! Is spot lighting legal there? Might be the only way you can get him. I hate it when the trail cam shows great looking shooters but only at night.

Meant to say, I am heading to the woods tomorrow morning, I originally had off tomorrow to duck hunt, full moon and clear skies has made duck hunting miserable, so tomorrow morning I will be in the stand, plan on hunting for most of the day. They are calling for a storm to move in tomorrow afternoon/evening, so I am really hoping that will get the dee moving in shooting hours. That camera is set 15 yards from my stand, most deer that come in on camera are 20 yards, I also found two other trails loaded with sign to my right of the stand, 20-30 yards away,so I am hoping I may see something.

Yup full moon killed my duck hunting this week, I did see two deer this morning, one mule of a doe that wasnt running but knew where she wanted to be, while I was trying to figure out where I could get a shot on her I caught a glimse of a big bodied deer maybe 10 yards behind her, couldnt see its head but I would put money on that it was a buck. this was at 8:00am, so at least it was light. I did also find 6 more scrapes, all relativly fresh, so I getting ready to head back to the woods now, have a storm moving in today into tonight, ands it colling down ever so slightly, maybe I can get a arrow in something today

Yesterday sucked, never saw a single deer in the afternoon. Wind really picked up after I got in the stand. I did however find a couple more scrapes and the first fresh rub. Not sure how many bucks are out there but they are tearing up our woods. Gonna try and go out tomorrow night after work, and prolly thursday since I took off for duck season and thats just ben horrible lol. I did have one high point yesterday while in the stand, for the first time ever I got to see live wild turkeys in the woods. Have gotten a few pics, and my grandfather always told us they were there but I ahve never actually seen them, I quit counting at 10, watched em feed and play around for over 20 minutes, pretty neat getting to watch em!
