Saw a hunting show yesterday and Jared Allen of the Vikings was hunting elk with a spear. He was up in a treestand and he got a nice 6x6 but I was just wondering what you guys think about it. Now he's a big guy and I'm sure he can chuck a spear pretty hard but, I don't think it would be for me. I will probably be putting my bow away before long because of my shoulders but will goto a crossbow. I guess I'm just not sure what I think about it. If a guy can handle it and practices I guess it's not much different then long bow. What do you guys think??  |

they do it with pigs and i seen a guy spear a buffalo. idk id try it on some hogs if i could

I wouldn't plan on anytime soon of trying it myself but I bet it would be a big rush.

Oh Im sure it would be a big rush...elk aren't small and once they get pricked form that spear they will rush you for sure...ever considered being skewered by elk antlers? I don't. This things are huge.
