I was reading through BowHunting Worlds November issue last night. In this issue they were reviewing the Best Hang-On Stands on the Market. Their first review was on the Rivers Edge BigFoot XL Lounger RE511. This 25 pound, welded tubular steel stand features a fully padded, 20-inch high lounger seat, padded backrest, built-in foot rest & flip-up seat for a full 30x24-inch XL Platform use. In addition, the camo-padded armrests flip up for backpacking-straps included. It comes in Hunter Brown & has a 300 lbs capacity. I like the suspension-style seat with what looks to have plenty of padding for those 12 hour days on stand. I also like the fact that I can pack it in on my back & set it up by myself. With a pulley system of course. The best part, it retails for $100 at Gander Mt. & Farm & Fleet. This Stand looks to be a great deal, so I thought I'de pass it on to you folks. www.huntriversedge.comEnjoy

That actually looks like a pretty good sized lock on, I have been thinking of trying one but most I ahve seen are way to small to be comfortable for long time sits, may have to look into this one

i fall asleep too much to hunt out of a lock-on, but for $100 that looks like a good deal to me.

I used to use lock ons till they all got stolen!!!! Now its all ladder and tripod stands. Oh and occassionally a climber. The suspension seats are the most comfy by far. Looks like a nice one though i would try it.

I own a couple of Hangers but none as nice as this one. The suspension seat really sets this one apart from mine & at a better price.
Passinthru, I use screw-in ladder steps on my hangers & take out the bottom 12' of steps when I leave. It has deterred theft thus far. On Public Land they frown upon screw-in ladders, so I have to use a climbing stick that is carried in & out as we hunt. It's a pain in the ass but it's better than a stolen stand.

I agree that is the best detterent. We cant screw into trees either and i found it just easier to use ladder stands. I can lock all of it and havent lost one that was locked yet.

I also like the Hangers because it keeps people out of my stands when Im gone. Not the case with my ladder stands.

Hmm looks like a good stand. I've never considered a lock on. I have two ladder stand and 2 climbers. I typically always hunt private land and only had one issue of someelse in my stand but that was settled and no other problems. Carrying the ladder stick is way easier then the whole stand I imagine. The public land down here is so distant from me that its not worth going to. One spot is only accessible by boat which probably has pretty good hunting since its so isolated but that just adds to the logistics of getting things ready to go hunting. My climber stand is only 16-18 lbs and I can set it up in 2-4 minutes. It faces the tree so I always ahve a steady rest for shooting from also. I got it for free from a widow whos husband hunted from it a few times. What a deal.!!!! I've killed more deer from that stand then any other one I own. Here is a link to my stand. portaclimbstands.com/Stands2.html
