All right boys and girls[if we have any girls]
What buck lure have you used in recent years that you can honestly say works..
I have used almost all of the national as well as regional ones
The one and only one I have used that I can truly say worked for me...
Special Golden Estrus.....
I have also used Harmon's with good results..

Tink's estrous gel...walked in and or Tink's doe pee. Several times I have had bucks during pre-rut and rut come walking right up to the scent. Also have a few great trail pics of bucks nosing the scent stick placed in front of the camera.

The only two i use are Code Blue and the deer herd in a stick. I use a small spray bottle and will spray every 20-30 yards walking in and then around where i sit. The stick i will rub all over the trees around me also. Seemed to have pretty good luck doing that.

Nevr really had any luck with anything store bought. Been using the border crossing VS 1 for the last week and been pretty dissapointed. I did have a small spike come smell a tinks hot bomb this weekend, but he didnt' come in from down wind. I had it near a trail and when he crossed it he checked it out.
And if that whole pee in a scrape thing is a joke its not funny. I aint trying it. That is about a bad a joke as turning someones scope adjustment.

And if that whole pee in a scrape thing is a joke its not funny. I aint trying it. That is about a bad a joke as turning someones scope adjustment. Don't try it then and you will never know.. The first few times I did it I used scrapes that were not in the immediate area I was hunting.. I was very skeptical myself.. More often then not the buck continued to use the scrape and very often they used it more. I have been hunting deer for 35+ years I have done it others have done it. Hell whitetail biologists and others who study whitetails have done it.. It can and does work often enough to warrant it's validity . Heck I often pee out of my tree stand. I did it 2 years ago right before the 142" buck I killed came in from down wind. We give deer far to much credit for being smarter then they really are.. When I grew up deer hunting in Michigan we hunted off the ground didn't think a whole lot about scent control or cover scents we did hunt the wind and we killed truck loads of deer.. That being said deer are not dumb and they do learn that certain sights sounds and scents are to be avoided..

Wow and to think I have been keeping bottles to pee in and throwing them away after the trip. If I only knew my pee would even bring them in five years ago a lot less bottles would of ended up full of pee in the trash. Guess I'm testing this one very soon!

I heard some guys talkin the other day about an old secret deer lure...they boiled or steamed mixed vegetables, kept them hot in the pan with the lid on took the warm pan into the woods set it out in a clearing sat back and waited on the deer to come. So far they say they've taken 6 deer this year with that method...I was laughin at them but they were serious. I do't know what to think. But a pot of steamed veggies is way cheaper and more readily available then the scents. Maybe I'll try it this season.

and if nothing else you will have lunch... Thats so funny...but true...but y;all cannot deny that some of the craziest sounding stuff actually has merit and works from time to time. I'm gonna try it for real tommorow if I can. I'm gonna stop by the grocery store buy some steam fresh, pop it into their microwave still in the box then goto my stand open it up out in the opening, climb up and wait. I'm gonna bring my rattling antlers also.

I found that using Roger Raglins Whitetail Maniac 150 and 155 works great, I have had a lot of success, pre-rut use 155 and as the rut breaks use 150.

Peeing in a scrape yourself is not a joke. Peeing in a scrape is not a joke. It's not a game, a rush, or a thrill. It's a crime. If you see anybody peeing in a scrape, call Buckstoppers at 1-800-BERTMAN.
