squirrel hunting in the city

i live smack-dab in the middle of the city and i've got 3 very mature oak trees in my yard. and with oaks comes tree rats. these little monsters are burying every acorn, pecan or nut they can get their grubby little paws on in my flower beds and digging holes in my grass. they're pretty much becoming more than a pain in my neck. so, since i live in the middle of the city, i can't just break out the 10/22 and start serving up some revenge 40 grains at a time. so what's a guy to do? he breaks out the trusty 20+ year old crossman 880 BB gun, that's what. this has been the most fun i've had in a good while without going outside. i just walk through the house and when i see one of the little rodents, i grab the trusty pea shooter and gently raise the window and PIIIIIINNG!!! the little turds jump and take off. given then age of this poor old gun and the fact that it's one of the pump it 10 times for about 700fps, it's not gonna do much damage. then i remembered that i used to have a single shot daisy that breached and you pumped it once for 1000fps, but i can't find it. i'm telling you what, if you've got squirrels, dig out the ol' BB gun and do a little in-house sniping. it's pretty fun. i'll see if i can get a video up here pretty soon.

I just wait until the rats are on the ground in the backyard. Then, I let the coonhound out. LOL She has managed to catch/kill 4 in the past week or so.

Only had one problem one time with my method. When the rat went up our 6' wooden fence, she miscalculated her jump. She ended up going THROUGH the fence. Oh well, it was worth the $20 to replace the panel for the laughs I got out of it. LOL

lol, yeah i think that'd be worth it to see. i've got one dog that's pretty fast, but he's dumb. he'll chase the boogers and as soon as they get close to a tree they'll break hard left or right and he keeps going because he can't stop, then when he gets turned around they're in the tree and he looks around with this dumb look on his face like he seriously believes they disappeared.

I went hunting i think 5 times this year and i got 28 been a good year 4 squirrels!! HOpe the deer do just as good lol!!
