So whats a good trail camera? Looking for one that gives good day/night pics with the time, date, moon, and temp., at least 30' range, goes more than two weeks on it's batteries and not an arm and a leg to buy. Reading the Bass Pro reviews the Primos Truth cam 35 is good and and a good price or should I just face the fact of having the minimum price above $200.00? Got a Cheap starter cam last year that sucks!! 30' flash, two week max battery life and misses more than it catches. Just looking for some help on this before I waste more $$$ on a camera. Any help??

For the past few years I have had good luck with my moultrie, has been a good cam, has a few years on it now and I am starting to have problems with getting the pictures off of it. You can usually pick one up fairly cheap at walmart, I wouldnt hesitate getting another one

I have a primos truth cam 46. Had for about 2 months now and just had to replace the batteries. Been getting about 3-400 pictures a week off it. I have mine set to only 1 picture per event, and 5 or 10 minute delay between events. We have 3 of the moultries i-40s and i-60s and they have been great cameras as well. When I got ready to buy a new one this year I looked at the reviews on the new moultries and decide against getting another one. Also have a bushnell trophy cam that has been good as well. Long battery life with it.

I hope JD dont mind me posting this link. It is to a local forum that I am a moderator on. It is about my review of the cameras I have. For the money I think the old I-40s and I-60s from Moultrie are great. The only issue we have out of those is the display screens going out. www.huntinghuddle.com/phpbb3/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=2885

Thanks for the help so far. I would rather pay $200.00 for one good camera then $200.00 for two pieces of junk. Just looking for the best bang for the buck and after looking on different company's sites (Bass Pro, Cabela's, ext.) and seeing them all the way up in the thousands it gets a little crazy on what a camera can do. Think I paid $60.00 for the camera I have now as a starter last year but looking for a better camera then that thing. I like the pics from the Primos and the $150.00 price tag is in the area of what I would like to pay so thinking of getting that but please correct me if that's a bad choice.

Here is a place that gives you a break down of the cameras from test that they run. It is a very good site and it gives you a non bias opinion just how the camera preformed with the test they did like trigger speed and flash distance and batteries life. Just click on the reviews tab and then the reviews page (all reviews) www.chasingame.comI have 3 moultries that I really like and just got a cuddeback 2 weeks ago and just put it out last week so i don't have any experience with them yet but will find out. I wouldn't hesitate getting a moultrie Again since I have had very good success with them. I had one back when they were 35mm film and then upgraded to digital and had 4 had the first digital one finally go out on me so i decided to try a cuddback to replace it this time since they had a $25/$50 mail in rebate depending on which camera you got.

I have always had good luck with the moultries,...... the new ones are a tad bit more simplified and seem to work well thus far

Had stealth cams, moultries, and cuddeback. Personal favorite is my cuddeback. They have a $25 dollar rebate on the capture right now so you can pick one up for about $175. The IR camera has a $50 rebate bringing it to $200. Mine takes great pics, has great battery life, and lightning fast trigger. Well worth the $200 I paid.

Predator had a Moultrie game cam that worked so great that someone had the bright idea to steal it.

I guess a note of caution is as valid as a good review. With that in mind, I'm a little disappointed with my Moultrie. The night pictures (infrared 'flash') are usually blurry because of deer moving during the exposure. Must be pretty slow. At the same time, my son has a Cuddeback and it outperforms mine consistently. Both were pretty much the same price, right around $200.

Well I must of gotten a bad one of those wildlife cameras, think that's the name of them too. It only last about two weeks on the batteries pictures or no pictures, the photo's are good until the batteries get low then they are blacked out at night. Guess it's not that bad overall just the battery life bums me out and I was thinking that was just to quick for them to die out. But for a starter camera last year it has done its duty to teach me what I want in a camera, it takes photos with the date and time on them and I would like to add the temp and moon phase to it so that means a new camera and I need three total anyway so I have to buy two more regardless. Cuddeback is new to me and Must look that up. Thanks all of you for the help so far..
