What sabots is everyone shooting??? And how effective are they? Ive been shooting t/c shockwaves in my encore and powerbelts in my remington. Each gun shoots a little different so i use what shoots the best. Was curious about penetration and how bad your sabots fragment. Every deer ive shot the sabots have just blow up. Meaning that i end up with i entrance and 4-6 exit wounds. And alot never even come out. So help me find some new ones that may work better.

Heres my list
1. Barnes 2. TC Shockwaves 99. Powerbelts - Have read to many bad things about them, safety and otherwise
Hornady makes some too that I have not really looked into but wouldn't be afraid to try anything from them.

What are the Barnes you are shooting? Do they seem to hold together?

Another vote for the Barnes. The solid copper slugs will NOT come apart. Accuracy is usually as good as anything else. Price is higher, usually, but the performance is the reasoning. I've posted these pics before, but here they are again. This is the only Barnes I have ever recovered. I shot a hog broadside at 10 yards, and the slug went through the shoulder and took out a 1" section of spine before coming to rest under the skin on the off side. This was a Barnes 1oz Expander out of a 12ga.

Im thinking that i may have to try the Barnes this year. Im just tired of losing so much meat because of the bullet fragmenting. Not to mention those pieces hurt your teeth when you bite into one.
