I don't even know what the limit for canada geese is for around here but they are a nuisance and hang out at several local places by the tens or 20's. I think it would be so easy to take my quote...prolly like less then 2 minutes. Maybe even 1 shot if my bag limit is 3. Its hard to miss them when there are 20-30 geese in the same spot.
Whats the significance of the band? You need to turn that in to the DNR for trackin purposes?
Around here woodies are the challenge. Those and marsh hens. I've been invited to become a duck huntere but I don't know the first thing about it except I'd need my shotgun, some warm cold weather gear for the water and either a boat and a dog or just a good boat... LOL

LOL I would rate shooting a banded bird about the same as shooting a large trophy buck. Geese and ducks are banded in different places throughout the USA and Canada. When you get one you go to a website and they tell you where it was banded at and send you a certificate for it. Its pretty rare to get one and when you do, you pull it off the bird and put it on your call lanyard. Woodies are a super cool looking duck. We have quite a few around during the early season but once the weather starts to get pretty cold they head south. I would love to get one of those mounted.

Nice pics, looks like some good eating.
I have shot a bunch of woodies, best looking duck IMO. Sent one with a buddy to get mounted and the taxadermist dissappeared. Wish I had some mounted.

This site needs email updates or somthing. I just saw the replies to this post from way back when.
Thanks for the update Hussker. I'm guess you came through Paris Island at some time, which is right next door to my house. We hear the rifle range all the time. The best forth of July show is always on PI. Take care.
