I dont think my week could get any worse. The other day i had a snowmobile crash with the deer. Now its even worse than that. Yesterday my oldest beagle took a turn for the worst and had to be put down. Like most everyones dog she owns a very special place in our hearts. This was a dog that i got for my mom and dad when my dad was going through cancer. The dog stayed by my moms side and would not leave her when he died. There will never be another dog that would take her place. She was so lovable and sweet you just had to love her. We spent many days in the field chasing rabbits and just meandering through the woods. She was a great rabbit dog and an even better friend. There will never be another dog like you Cinnamon and you will be soely missed by all. Now she can be with dad hunting up in the big fields full of rabbits. R.I.P my friend.

I'm sorry to hear that man. Losing a dog can be like losing a close member of the family, simply because they are.
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge...
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food and water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing: they miss someone very special to them; who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. The bright eyes are intent; the eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to break away from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. YOU have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Hate to hear this. It is truly amazing how close we can get to our pets. Me and the family lost our little Jack Russel over a year ago and we still keep a pic of her on the fridge. Things will get better!

My heart goes out to you man, no words to explain the attachment we get with our dogs! I look at my Ol' girl from time to time, and deeply dread the day that will eventually come, for she is not a hunting dog, or a well trained animal, she is my friend, my buddy, my partner in crime. She is always there, always meets me at the door when I come in, though a bit slow now in her age she ALWAYS meets me! She never leaves my side when I'm near, though I cuss and sometimes yell when I trip over her, I wouldnt want it to change. She is my one "True" friend, she has unconditional love for me, shows no fear of anyone or anything when she feels I am in danger, and I would do anything for that dang dumb dog! This attachment was sent to me some time ago, I delete most emails but I have this one locked, Hope it helps you brother, just think of your Ol buddy running, chasing rabbits and remember She is waiting patiently for you at the Bridge! silverandgoldandthee.net/V/J_S.html
