Congrats on the hogs.
I never ate wild hog, do they taste the same as domesticated hogs?
If they taste the same or better, maybe I might have to make a trip down south to fetch me some.

Congrats on the hogs. I never ate wild hog, do they taste the same as domesticated hogs? If they taste the same or better, maybe I might have to make a trip down south to fetch me some. from what i know and have experienced the young ones are good and tender but once you get into some of the big old boars you start to get hard and gamey tasting meet. like i said im no expert but this is what i have experienced and hear from hog hunters it also depends on what kind of hog it is. some are russian boars some are spanish pinnerooters some are just domestic pigs some are a mix it depends

I hunt public land only, and can only hunt hogs when there is an open hunt date. We are allowed to hunt hogs with archery equipment during archery season. Big game weapons during big season. Small game weapons during small game season, and turkey weapons during turkey season. I also think I have enough meat for now. lol

In GA we are able to kill hogs on private land with no closed season. As Riverrat said, on public land there has to be an open season.
Great hog!!!!!!!!
