What is everyone's favorite, and why? I have been using Spider Wire Ultra Cast for a few years now. I liked that it was thinner diameter than a comparable test weight. I use an ultralight spinning reel quite a bit, and this was a very good bonus. I could use 8# test, but at the diameter of 4# monofiliment. This last batch has been horrible, it has a ton of memory in the line, and does not spool well.
So, any ideas? I want a line that is thinner, spools well, and casts well with lighter weights. Ideally it would be 6-8 # test, witht he diameter of 4#. Any ideas?

Any ideas? if you like braid try power pro. it's a little tough to get knots to stick sometimes, but it has absolutely no memory and you're not going to break it. that's the only reason i don't use it on all of my rods. i tend to try squirrel fishing every now and then and i wind up getting hung up more than i catch'em so it makes it a pain to get loose.

Squirrel Fishing? I love it!! We used to fish for pheasants when i was young. That was a very interesting few seconds when ya hooked one!!! As for line i have been using Suffix for a couple of seasons now and i really like it. I do alot of river fishing and line twist is a major problem but this line holds its own and doesnt twist. Great castability and very low memory.

Ande- It is inexpensive, cast well and it is tough as nails. I straighten hooks with 12#! This line does have some memory, but a quick spray of line conditioner will solve that.
