Just wondering if anyone here has used Acorn rage. i picked up a bag at wal mart last week and through it out sat. I put up a new stand just off of a active trail, hour before dark I had 3 deer, one doe, yearling BB and a fawn, they walked about 10ft passed it on there way past me, much to my suprise within minutes they came back and practicly walked right up to it and procedded to tear it up. especially the fawn lol, but all three worked on it for close to an hour while browsing. They never really gave me a shot(wouldnt have taken a shot anyway) but they hung around and even came a few feet from my stand. This might be a freak thing, but I am hoping to get some pics from my other stand site with some activity as well. Anyone else used it?

Ive used it in the past. Great product.
But I save some $$$ & take a bucket of acorns & rotten apples harvested in our back pasture & take those to the deer woods a few days prior to my hunt.
Its not as convenient as the store bought products but its a heck of a lot cheaper.

It seems to work better if there are actually acorns or oaks in the area. We use it on our corn piles near the oak trees with great results. It seems to hold deer on the piles longer allowing for better evaluation before making a shot. I've never used it by itself but maybe it will work by itself also.

I used it before. Only problem was they ate it so fast it made it a waste of money. I would put it out and it would be gone by the next day.

I put out two bags a last year, both sat in a pile and molded. Even had a deer track in it, but didn't eat it.
But if you had luck maybe they like it up there.

Grassi its definately a climate issue when it comes to using stuff like those attractive powders and what nots. I've found out that you can't use it like it says. I dust my corn piles with it with pretty good success. I imagine that if I had followed directions and put it into piles it prolly would have molded and rotted for me too due to high levels of humidity and frequent heavy morning dew and after noon showers. Next time try it in lighter applications like a dusting of corn or mixing it with the corn in your feeder so it gets tossed out with the shell corn. It seems to keep and hold the deer on the pile, Im still not sure if it draws them in better or not, I mean deer love corn and deer love acorns just as much so using them togethor might enhance the attraction but one thing is for sure it does increase nutrition of just the corn, so repeated usage can't be bad for growing deer size and antlers. Good luck buddy.

Everytime we go check it, there is apple pellets all over the ground and no corn. It smells good though

I used it before. Only problem was they ate it so fast it made it a waste of money. I would put it out and it would be gone by the next day. This is what happened to mine also...I put it out on my corn pile and a few small piles along the edges of my fireline food plot. Lots of activity but gone pretty quickly. So it defeinately works to bringin the deer but unless you can hunt 24hrs a day and can stake out the stuff you put out you'll never see or get the deer eating it cause they will take care of it the first few nights when you're home not hunting.
