Well, I am sick, sick, sick to my stomach. I've had a nice 9 pointer that's been coming to my feeder since August. I finally got a shot at him yesterday evening and I guess I hit him a little to far back. After I shot I got down from my stand and found blood and marked it then left for an hour. When I got back I picked up the trail. I followed that trail with dark red blood very easily for I'd estimate (with all the winding around) about 200 yards then the trail stopped. I searched until 3 a.m. this morning and couldn't find any more blood. I came back after taking off work early today and looked around for another 2 hours. I couldn't not find a single drop of blood beyond the point where I lost the trail last night. This SUCKS!

I am always amazed at what those animals can do. Even after what seems to be a good shot.
Sorry to hear that, Maybe check for some buzzards, they should be on it pretty quick. Atleast you may be able to save the rack.

Sorry to hear that. Dont know if its allowed there but there are lots of people here with tracking dogs. Maybe you could try that. The meat wont be aby good but you may get your trophy back. Just a thought.
