A friend of mine took this picture near my hometown. The photo is a little fuzzy because it was taken on a cell phone. It is not a whitetail, I told her that I thought it was an elk but the closest elk herd is in Bancroft about 150miles from here. Any other ideas?

Definately an elk. I have seen a few in Ontario before so i know they are there.

I'd say elk or Red Deer but seeing that Red Deer don't live on this continent Im goin with ELK. Apparently he's looking for new grazing area or he's lost. Maybe he;s the first of the new herd expansion migration.

Maybe he;s the first of the new herd expansion migration. There are Red Deer here, but most are in high fences, but I wouldn't be surprised if some got out somewhere. But ofcourse they are not native to the continent.

We have a couple of Elk farms within 25 miles of here. I think that the elk is probably an escapee from one of those farms.
