Harescramble are a blast! Two hours is a long time on a bike/quad but you sure get your moneys worth! I like to watch some of the kids on the 85's-150's. Some of those kids can really fly! The pro's are just amazing, they do some unbelievable stuff and they do it for 3 hrs!!!

the only "racing" i ever did was for fun with my buddies around this little pond during dry spells. the edges would get muddy and we'd go 'round and 'round slinging mud everywhere and nearly killing ourselves. that was in the old days though.

My spoiled little brother has raced moto cross since he was 7. He has two bikes, and two quads, and a mini track in the back yard.
Its crazy he does stuff I never dreamed on those bikes. He fractures his collarbone last summer it slowed down a bit now. He is also, getting big. 130 lbs 11 year old.
I had a yamaha 40 zinger back in the early 80's. That just aint' right.
Ahh can't complain, some kids don't have a bicycle.

Bikes are MUCH better than they were in the 80's. I never got to race when I was young, but now that I can afford it Im to old! Lol Harescrambles are safer than Moto-cross, but they are still dangerous. They are a little more laid back, if you don't want to be competetive you can just go out and ride your own pace.
A funny story: At Snowshoe GNCC one year, one of the Pros hit a deer while racing! This is a race that has about 300 bikes at one time! They race 3 hrs and this was late in the race. You would think after 3 hrs there wouldn't be a deer around for miles! It knocked him out but luckily he didn't get hurt!
