I just saw the official announcement from the ODNR that 219,698 deer were taken during the 2011-12 hunting seasons, compared to 239,379 in the 2010-11 season. Looks like we will have a few more deer for next year.

One can only hope Smoke! I wish i could trust the numbers they tell us for Mi. Every single year with the exeption of one they tell us the kill was up from last year anywhere from 10-20%. Then in the next paragraph they tell us hunter numbers still on the decline in huge numbers. So if we keep losing that many hunters every year who is killing all these record numbers of deer? We need a better system here for sure.
