I am thinking about trying to sell weekend hunts. We have 1200 acres and only about 5 or 6 people hunting it. We were fortunate enough to be able to pay our lease for the year, but I was trying to think of a way to regain a little loss.
We have full accomodations as far as lodging. Heat, AC, individual showers and baths. And We ( My Father and I) enjoy cooking for people). Another problem we have is too many deer. And it is kind of difficult for a few people to thin them out on 1200 acres.
I was thinking of something like $150 a day, per person. This would include meals, lodging, and killing one doe or hog. I would probably put an extra price on killing a buck. No matter what size, but if you shoot a buck it would be like $700.00. And more than likely make them put down a buck deposit. So, if they couldnt decide to shoot a budk then not pay.
Also, I would like to let kids that are gonna sit in the same stand with their parent or guardian to be free.
I was just gonna see what you guys thought. If you think this would be a good or bad idea. Maybe some things I have not thought of?? Price too high or low. It is pretty low compared to most other paid hunts. And the big thing would be is you don't shoot a buck you don't pay.
