Just wonder what you guys use to treat poison ivy, and how you keep from getting it? I'm 40 and this is the first time I've ever had it. In ate up all over my legs and arms, it's driving me nuts!!!!

Aloe is your friend. Best thing is just not to itch it. I get it a couple times a year. And as long as I dont itch it, it wont spread. Dosent always work for me though.

I know what you are going through. It can be real torture. Calamine usually works for me and I also use Ivarest. If it is not clearing up using these, you my have to go see your doctor for a stronger medicine in the form of injections.
Good luck, Smoke...

I know the misery very well, I am incredibly allergic to poison ivy/oak. Best stuff I have used is Ivy Dry. Get the soap, and the spray. The soap helps pull the oil out, and the spray helps clear it up/itch relief. Also, when ever you touch the infected area, wash you hands immediately. You can spread it on yourself. Good luck, I hope you get some relief.

How long does it usually last? I got some pills from the Dr. seems like they are starting to help some but they make me sick. The calamine helps and I got some body scrub called tech-nu extreme. It helps a lot to. Thanks for the info guys, can't wait until it clears up!!

Depends on you. I usually take 1-2 weeks to clear up. Every time I get exposed, it gets worse though. That is a fun thing about allergies, your reaction is usually more severe every time you are exposed. Tec-nu is pretty good stuff. The Ivy-Dry just works a bit better for me. Hope you start felling better soon.
