I came across this recipe for a homemade scent eliminator. Has anyone had any expeirence with this? Does it work and is it safe to put on hunting equipment? I have some scent blok clothing and was wondering if this would interfere. Here is the recipe: Step 1 Ingredients needed: 2 cups (16 ounces) of 3% hydrogen peroxide 2 cups (16 ounces) of distilled water ½ cup of baking soda
1 ounce of unscented shampoo (available at drug store or health-food store)
Step 2
Gently combine all of the ingredients in large bowl until the baking soda dissolves. Pour this mixture into a 1 gallon jug, like a milk jug. Let it sit for three days with the lid on loosely to allow the gasses to escape. Transfer to a small spray bottle as needed. If you make a large amount of scent blocker and don't have enough spray bottles to store it in, keep the milk jug stored in a dark place to keep the peroxide from reacting.
Thaks for the help

That's it man. Now you'll never have to buy the expensive stuff again.
I've been using this same recipe for a couple years now & actually learned about it right here on this forum. 8)
Good luck & happy hunting.

I was reading up on homemade scent eliminators this morning before mixing up a batch & read that Scent Shield Bone Collector & Primos Silver XP uses colloidal silver in their recipes. Being as my Pops is a survivalist of sorts & a naturalist, I gave him a call & asked him if he had a bottle put away & of course he did. So he brought it over & we mixed a batch. After we did a little google search & discussed the matter over a pot of coffee, we decided to add 1/8 of a cup of colloidal silver to the recipe. From what Ive read of our peroxide/baking soda recipe here, it is 10 times more effective than any store bought product on the market, mainly because their products are so diluted/watered down to save on production costs. And by adding colloidal silver, an antimicrobial agent to the recipe, its tremendously more effective than any store bought scent eliminator spray.
Hope this info saves you fine folks some $$$.
