New Stand Set-up (NEW) Pictures of deer

So I moved my stand set-up near where I found some well travelled trails...and a scrape line. No camera pictures yet but I'm hopeful. The views are about 50-100 yards in about 270 degrees. The stand has an easy access trail to it and is tucked back on a plam tree behind some Eastern Red Cedar and Live Oak Clusters. So what do y'all think? Anyone else hunt whitetail in Sabal Palm woods?

I think you're probably right. We might have a couple FL or LS hunters with something similar but the SC and GA coastlines with the marshes and the Sabal Palms is pretty unique. Just goes to show how versatile the whitetail deer is at adapting to its surroundings. I'll try to pull my trail cam card Tuesday and post some pictures if i have any of deer coming through.

Finally some deer that come through the new stand set-up...right at dark 30 though. Check out the times that these deer come through.
First a Marsh nub buck with mud socks

Dag that a nice one there. I think i would be looking to see where the one with the mud on him was coming from. It may be a spot you need to watch or even move in closer to. It may be the only way you can catch them in the daylight.

wow really dont know what to say about the Palms that sure would feel weird to me hunting there and so cool at the samw time.

Hunting in the palm trees posses some difficult problems. The leaves are super crunchy and pretty large so sneaking in through the area is VERY difficult to do quietly. Combine that palm debris with the crispy LIVE oak leaves and yo've got a crunchy entry EVERYtime. But on the flip side the deer also can't walk through without crunching something. The palms also serve as natural umbrellas during the rain. I'm not looking forward to sitting through a torrential storm but the latest South Carolina Sportsman Magazine hunting through the rain can pay huge dividends. From my observations just before and right after a storm the deer are moving like crazy. Gotta get out there and and hunt hunt hunt. Go get em guys!!!

I dont mind hunting the rain. Like you said Dag, they're gonna move before & after. The rain also helps cover sounds & smells while youre on point. So get out the Gortex & have a blast.

Rain is a good thing as long as its not a downpour i will hunt in it also.

I dont mind getting wet as long as its not a down pour and have seen alot of deer in the rain, they do move. When I here people say deer dont move in the rain I just think to myself ok you stay home and where is your stand again ;D.

:)Here's the latest buck group shot. Before I barely had his head...now I've got his tail and. The cow horn is eating corn from the pile. This picture taken a day after the doe group. No other deer or pictures of interest to post. Interestingly enough NOT a single picture of deer at night even during the full moon. Both of these were taken after I put down acorn rage on the corn pile. Looks like it back to daylight hunting. I better pack a lunch. It might take a couple days.
