Just bought a Mathews Switchback XT from a guy at work for a great price. Bow is currently all camo but I will be stripping it and powder coating the riser Satin Black along with replacing just about everything on it. I will post some pictures of the process from start to finish. The ideas in my head will turn it into one awesome Bow (for a Mathews that is) and hoping the plan will all come together with a Badass finished product. The before pic (as bought) Riser ready for Powder Coating Riser is all Powder Coated I went with flat black instead of the satin finish and I think it turned out great Its getting there

Good to see there are a few people still here and hopefully things will pick up. Sounds like you had a good season Smoke, I was only able to get out once for the Gun Opener and past on a couple small ones. I am getting pumped for Turkey season this Spring and will be taking my Fiancee's 8 year old son out with me.

Yes they are still alive (at least for a few more days) lol. Season just started here on July 15 and goes to Sept. 15. They taste amazing and helps save a few ducks by putting a few in the pot.

Yesterday morning was AWESOME even though none of the Birds were the biggest in the woods it was one to remember for a very long time. I took 3 guys out that have never Turkey Hunted before and I had no clue as to what was going to happen. We had birds Gobbling on the roost all around us and after they hit the ground I was able to bring in the first one for Cam to get a geat shot on a little after 7:00 am. A round 8:20 I was able to call in a group of 3 which my GF's Brother-in-law was able to get one of them. At 9:00 my GF's son fianlly had enough when I believe the other 2 from the group of 3 came back in. We talked it over and decided to go for a double. After a bit we finally had the chance and took both of them. It was an awesome Hunt and as soon as I can get the video up I will share it.

Less then a week to go and the birds are really starting to get fired up. I have been seeing a lot of Birds and some really nice Toms. I will be taking out 3 guys that have never Turkey Hunted before so it will be very interesting and a blast at the same time. I hope to be able to have them all shot their first Bird this year and be able to join in the excitement when they do so.
I'll keep ya all posted next week with how it goes and hopefully have some great pictures as well.

Did some scouting in an area to set up a blind and while doing so I had about 40 birds come thru. 6 of them were nice Toms with 2 of them being Book birds. I was laying on the ground and the group went by me at about 20 yards. The Toms were chasing the hens around and were putting on an awesome show Strutting and gobbling their heads off. I hope they continue this for a few more weeks and we dont have a repeat of last year when they were already done and made the hunt tough.

I have 2 first time Turkey Hunters that I will be taking this year (My GF son, Nate and his uncle). We all drew the first hunt which is only from April 22 thru April 28 and my goal is to get them their first Birds before I get one so I will probably be using the Shotgun. If I get the new Bow before season though I will be using it. Either way I am looking forward to this season and getting 2 new guys involved. Its going to be a great hunt either way.
