Arrowhawk, there are some small rubs in this area from year to year. On point, I don't have a map to post. I'll try to find something when I get home. What are you waiting for get in there and hammer him? An overhead would be helpful but I would say if you can hang in the first part of it and off 20 yards. Also check the area parallel to it you may find around run or 2 with no rubs which would be down wind of the rub line. I see this alot and its usally a run more Does use a Buck keeps his distances until its time. If you can find a run like that set up between the 2 just incase he finds a hot Doe and trails her down the other one. Just a thought but that way you can watch both if its possible.

Sounds like before them would be best to increase the changes of seeing him earlier.
Are there rubs heading in both directions? Has the area been hit in past years?
I like hunting rub lines that pop up in the same places year after year, so take a look and see if there are any old ones around also. If there are the area may be hot with Bucks using it year after year or the same one Buck using it.

The cost of new ones is not worth the damage they could cost you or your Bow. Speaking of your Bow Predator you may want to throw it away also and get a Hoyt.
Just tell WVgirl "See what this thing is doing to my arrows, I need a new one"

What does Michael Waddell and a Prositute have in common?
Both are "Bone Collectors"

I dont mind getting wet as long as its not a down pour and have seen alot of deer in the rain, they do move. When I here people say deer dont move in the rain I just think to myself ok you stay home and where is your stand again ;D.

We have had small around here taking that people call Super Bucks. 6 month olds with racks and I mean the biggest racked one I seen was an 8 point (small rack but still had 8 full points). These look like a normal 6 month old though just with a rack.

I also do alot of state land hunting and i will pass on almost any small bucks that come by. I know he guy sitting down the road may shoot it but ill give em that chance to make it. I like to think that some of them have made it. But i wont rag on the next guy for shooting it because in his eyes it may be a trophy. I agree with that and I have seen some really nice Bucks on state land but they are so few and far between. Th epiece I hunt is always good during the archery season but during gun season the same group of guys drive it a they shoot just about anything that moves. I'll take a smaller Buck if I can and with the rules here one of them has to be a nice one.

i've passed on a lot of deer before and usually regret it. i don't usually pass on does, but i do on bucks. bad thing is if i pass on a buck, there's somebody that won't so we never get too many trophies down this way. it'll pay off one day. part of the fun for me is actually seeing deer. it means that i did something right and it's not just dumb luck that brought that deer buy. So true. I hunt mostly State Land so really good Bucks are hard to come by so if I have a legal deer in front of me with a Tag to go on it, its going down unless its a fawn. I love the taste of Venison to much.

A Doe tag in my pocket and A Doe in front of me, means an Arrow is on its way. I have yet to see a Doe this year though and would be nice to get a Doe on Ice as well before the rut really picks up.

Hey JD not sure how many members are into it but maybe adding a Trapping/Snaring Area.
Maybe a place for all of us people that Mushroom/Asparagus/Leak Hunt along with all the other great wild foods out there.
It would be cool to see what goes on around the US.
Keep it in mind if possible for down the road stuff.

Had a buddy shoot one last year that bleed like no tomorrow. We lost the blood trail and did find the Buck the next morning over 500 yards away. Perfect shot he made and even put the arrow back thru both holes. The buck should of never made it 40 yards taking out both lungs but it did and it happens to everyone. Get on her and with your skills you should find her.
Dont let it ruin your season. It happens to all of us and if it hasnt it will. Keep your head up Bro (not while tracking of course).
